Raspberry seem to think they can change the spec. of Raspbian whenever they feel like it, without bothering to test or document anything. Hence, when you want to do something, you have to spend a few days trawling the internet for information, most of which doesn't apply to your version. It is unbelievably frustrating.
As an example, the Pi Zero lacks audio apart from HDMI out. USB audio sticks are 99p on auction sites, but Raspbian has an internal spelling mistake ('snd-usb-audio') which prevents them working.”
