“Pi Zero is a very small embeddable unit. It is absolutely not for beginners but advanced users may get much of it. Lower power consumption and smallest footprint are it’s best features. It runs Java code with an ease. Lack of dedicated monitor/camera connectors may be a problem for some but for headless options it works great.”
“Have been totally flabbergasted with this little baby! It was a little daunting the lack of USB, but I totally understand the reasoning of the architecture. I am a newbie in electronics, breadboards, and soldering, and all that, but I'm gonna trudge forward and give it a go. That's the beauty of the Pi 0, if I burn it up learning, it's not a big deal. I have another one on order right now. And another...I am keeping one Pi 0 as my media center, it's been really fun.”
“I decided to transition from Arduinos to a Raspberry pi and I'm pretty satisfied. This version of the raspberry is cheaper, but for beginners I don't think you really need much more.
The investment is well worth the money in my opinion, it is so cheap you can't go wrong.
I would recommend buying a USB Hub along with it because I personally overlooked it at the moment and regretted it later. With just one micro-USB port you really can't do much at all”
