“I have to admit. I am a bit in love with this.
If you want something physically small and yet a capable full Linux machine, this could be what you want. It's the reason they're out of stock everywhere.
Things to be aware of is only half a Gig of RAM, so it's probably no good as a minecraft server or for running virtual machines etc. Also the CPU is only single core so it will struggle if you try to use it as a desktop running a browser plus multiple other apps. It could pass as a machine to learn programming but I would suggest the Pi 3 for that sort of thing. Also the Pi Zero has no inbuilt wifi or ethernet. If you want stuff like that you will need adapters which elevate the price toward the larger Pi models.
If you need a single purpose machine and perhaps need to connect to some electronic parts like thermometers or little sensors and you want something tiny, this is your baby!”
“The Raspberry Pi Zero is a small and cheap alternative to it's bigger brothers (RasPi 2&3). Especially for apllications with less space it's adviseable to use the Zero Pi. The use is as simple as the others. Recently, the zero has it's an own camera port, which allows to use convenient Pi cameras with a special pi zero cable.
All in all a very nice product for egineers and hobbyists.”
“It may not have the power of a pi3, but it's got more than enough grunt for the sort of tasks I'll be using it for! Especially considering the small footprint!”
“I am using this Pi to automate my garden. It turns on my gardenlights when it gets dark. Turns on the sprinklers when it gets dry. And controls my pond fountain.”
