“I am building my own weather station using a couple of raspberry pi zero's with different sensors (rain, temperature). Pi zero is the ultimate tool for this, because it's easy to integrate sensors, has great software support (python, opencv) and is very easy to handle. no flashing firmwares. I am using ESP8266 as wifi devices. Would love to see wifi on board.”
“I’ve had the chance to buy two Zeros with the Magpi magazine in November. I bought this one for my colleague, who could not get hold of one for several months. The Zero is fine - cheap, small, low-power yet still versatile. The price is arbitrary, though: each cable, adapter, card and accessory you need doubles-triples the price. Maybe a €10 or €15 price with embedded wifi would be more reasonable? - And while cheap, shipping to my place in Belgium more than doubled the price.”
“I am very pleased with the Pi Zero. It's tiny, lightweight and doesn't need that much power compared to big ones. It's great as well to solder the pinheader exactly for your needs.”
