“I bought the Zero Essentials kit and was quickly able to assemble the protective case, once I had seen some advice on YouTube. Although I have no specific plans for using it in a project, I think it would be interesting to see an 'inspirational roadmap', so that new users can get an idea of how the zero fits in with the rest of the Raspberry family. NOOBS installation is easy and the Zero functions quite well as a basic desktop. For the price, it is amazing value and hugely entertaining!”
“My Pi Zero arrived!
Okay, I just want to say up front, I already have SD cards, mini-HDMI cables, power supplies, wifi dongles, and all the other stuff (software, hardware) convenient/necessary to do development...that stuff is not 5 Pounds...but the Pi Zero is!
If you are looking computing to put in an embedded project...that is generic, economical, flexible, and well supported (the amount of support info is huge)...then Pi Zero is great for that.
The main consideration for me is size (Pi Zero is small) and power dissipation (Pi Zero is low...less than 1 W...with wifi and hdmi off).
Off course there are other options for embedded that are going to top Pi Zero...but, for quick prototyping or one-of-a-kind projects the Pi Zero is a very good choice.”
“One of the most amazing pieces of hardware of the last 30 years, not just for the technology, but also the philosophy of it.
The other Raspberrys have the ability to empower a whole generation to get to grips with the technology that they have been spoon-fed up til now. This board puts that power in their pockets - for £4 - Astounding”
