“I'm very happy with the new PI 3, I use it with Rasbian and OSMC.
I originally had a PI 1 256 mb and this is a massive improvement in terms of speed and the development of the software. Everything pretty much works out of the box but you need to be prepared to drop down to the terminal on occasion to accomplish some tasks. It works great as a media center and can also be used for office tasks with the included Libre Office. By adding a bit of storage the PI 3 can pretty much do anything a regular PC can do. Great value for money.”
“This is a really nice upgrade to the Pi2, which I also have. Kit contained everything I needed to get going. I definitely noticed the increase in speed with the Pi3, and finally having the wireless on board is obviously a big plus. Power supply is good quality, with a nice long lead. Nicely designed case as well with good access to ports and GPIO pins.
One star off as I had trouble with the provided NOOBS image not fully supporting the Pi3 (this was just after launch), but I downloaded the latest Raspbian image myself and all was fine. If I hadn't had a microsd card reader though I would have been stuck. Hopefully this will now be fixed.”
