“Excellent product, easy to assemble and very easy to set up. Raspberry api5 boots up lightning fast. Heat is kept to a minimum with the built in controlled fan. Highly recommended.”
“A worthwhile increment on the Argone One form-factor case. In this moel NVME drives are supported directly with Raspberry PI 5, as opposed to using an external USB 180 degree dongle.
The onboard RP2040 simplifies management of the fan and power, and the whole is very easy to set up. Talking of which, providing full-size HDMI converters built into the case for the Pi 5 is also an improvement on the PI 4 version.
The only niggle is that the magnetic cover on top of the GPIO does not quite sit flush, and rocks a couple mm. It's only annoying if one presses it, so don't press it. :)”
“I have three of these, each has at least one challenge. One the power button does not function and was delivered with the magnet retainer in the bottom of the unit, and both units two and three had difficulty connecting the R-Pi to the HDMI and Power Board.
The PCIe connector is flimsy so spares are provided also the manual dexterity required to make the connection should not be underestimated. Any change of the microSD card means opening up the case which makes the case a difficult choice for experimentation. The loss of the audio connector unless a DAC is fitted makes an expensive case more expensive. Not my favourite case.
Should also mention that the last two pages of the Product Guide should be read before assembly begins. How many users assembled the unit to find they had to dismantle the case to complete set-up?
While the Argon ONE V3 M.2 NVMe Raspberry Pi 5 Case is aesthetically pleasing and compact, there are challenges. More that one reviewer has mentioned difficulties with the power button, broken PCIe connectors and difficulty connecting the PCIe cable. At £46 this is a premium item and should not suffer niggles or require user programming to function.”
