Case is good and straightforward to put together with the Pi5 and fit the nvme drive, unfortunately I didn't realise the case won't actually allow the installation of the PoE Hat due to the headsink part blocking installation

Delivered quickly, nice compact case for Pi 5 and NVMe drive. Was fiddly to put together in parts - ribbon cable on nvme base board the thing to open the socket was very hard to see, I used a you tube video to help. Screws to screw the base and middle together were too short and didn’t bind - I found a couple in the house and these were fine. I had to use internet resources to find how to change the Pi 5 to boot from the NVMe drive (a crucial 500gb p3). Boots fast from Raspberry Pi Os n the NVMe drive. Very good case. With pi 5 nice that there is a socket for the fan, leaving the full GPIO free, and also for the case that unscrewing the top gives access to the GPIO plugs. Overall very happy with the case.

Premium quality heatsink case for RPi 5. Instructions for fitting the NVME flexible cable are really bad, and it was only when I looked at another user's photo on the Argon forum that I was certain how to fit it with the correct orientation. Fan gets a little too noisy for my taste when the RPi 5 is stressed, but when idle the fan is slient. There is no special place assigned within the case to stow the RTC battery. I haven't yet tested performance with NVME (I used Samsung 980 1TB), but it feels great. No sign of any NVME interace problems but I haven't been using it long enough to comment on stability yet. Price paid was £35, my first reaction when ordering it was that this price was too high, but comparing to the alternative: ~£15 for the case, ~£15 for the NVME interface, ~£5 for the fan, then actually given the premium nature of the product this price was acceptable and I don't have any regrets for paying such a high price.

It's difficult to write a review for something that cannot be used as intended. I had been using a WD SN550 in a USB enclosure with my Pi 5 for a while now and was looking forward to plugging the SSD into a PCIe case such as this. I think I was one of the first to buy it from PiHut, before anyone had heard of 'incompatibilities'. The case seemed well built and would have been ideal but was returned. I really hope Argon One publish a compatibility list - they told me on their support forum that the WD SN550 wasn't compatible.

Very nice product that could do with a bit of refinement. First thing to know is that unlike the non-NVME version, the base is plastic not aluminium. Second, and it would be very easy for them to rectify, the wires to the fan are much too long meaning for neetness you have to find a way of losing a lot of redundant wire. The temptation is to stow it somewhere that would obstruct air flow. Third, there is no good place to stow the RTC battery. I made a pocket for it in the lid, but that complicates disassembly. Fourth there is no obvious way for cables to the GPIO or camera/display ribbons to exit when the lid is on. This would be very easily rectified by removing the 'teeth' in the vent slots both sides. But this is good for a first-generation product and an excellent solution for for a Pi 5 with NVME storage. Note also that access to the CF slot is blocked without full disassembly, so prepare your M.2 drive first!

Fantastic case for the pi 5. The only drawback was that there were no instructions on how to fit the m.2 (slide the two black blocks to the side). Resolved after a few web searches. Keeps fairly cool during heavy use.
