“Solid and easy solution for connection issues. Went from a Raspberry Pi 3 with pretty severe WiFi connection issues more often than not, to a very solid connection that rarely varies more than for a few seconds at worst. Since the device is being used for wireless speaker setup, this has proven to be the single most effective upgrade to the setup since I started using it a few years back. Long gone are the days of losing the connection and music stuttering.
For the price asked, I think this is a delightful network adapter. It is a bit on the bulky side, so one needs to keep that in mind, if you have limited space around the USB ports on your Pi. But otherwise, I have little to comment on, much less complain about. No setting up, it just works, assuming that you are running a somewhat recent version of pretty much any Linux-based operating system.
If you have the need for better connection to your Pi, need a solid and steady uplink to enable you to stream your music in the kitchen, or just keep an eye on your Pi that monitors your plants, this is one of the best choices I've seen and used so far!”
“Bought two of them, both worked great as is (plug-and-play), boosted upload and download speeds enough to consider the money well-spent. I expect to order 2 more of them, after scouting around for something better but failing to find anything that I'd trust. Bonus that they're also USB 3.”
“Bought it to use with a Raspberry 5, with OpenWRT installed. I am running it as a router and the plan was to use the WiFi Adapter as an Access Point. It does work with readily available driver, speed is great but WiFi range is limited I think due to limit on available transmit power of the Adapter, which is a shame. Unfortunately can't use it as an WiFi Access Point. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.”
“Seems to get quite hot in use so removed and reverted to internal wifi - made little difference to range or speeds available.
On a positive note it is immediately recognised by the Raspberry Pi.”
