“This is at least an order of magnitude better than the Apple HomePod it replaced, much more robust and with plenty of scope for building a full home automation setup. So far I have added Matter/Thread, Zigbee and plaini WiFi devices (TVs) and the whole process has been very easy.”
“I bought Home Assistant Green to control my Solar Battery and EV Charger to in order to stop the Solar Battery dumping into the car particularly when off peak electricity was available to charge the car. I essentially used AI to talk me through how to install Home Assistant Green and set this up. This including installing the Home Assistant Community Store (HACS), connecting my two devices and backing it up. I have some experience with programming (BASIC and machine code from the 1980s) and C (late 1990s) but didn't know where to start with automation on the Home Assistant Green. Once again, AI helped and I haven't had to write any code myself! I did know what I wanted, which in my case, was to force charge my solar battery when the EV is charging from unpredictable low price slots offered outside the normal predictable off peak times. The Home Assistant Green has ensured that I no longer empty the solar battery into the car. I spent a couple of hours settting it up and installing HACS, another couple of hours connecting the devices and another couple of hours working on the automation and checking this worked.”
