“I bought this because I wanted to try Home Assistant and I wanted a quick and cheap way to do it with minimal effort. This was the way to do it.
Pros: Super quick to set up, pretty much just plug in and it works.
Cons: No Bluetooth included, so you will either need a USB Bluetooth adapter or an ESP32 link thing.
I would totally recommend this for someone who wants a little automation without having to spend too much to start with.”
“Noob to home assistant, install was relatively painless and quick
Learn curve is steep for automation and integrations but getting there slowly
Well made and small so easily placed out of people's view.”
“Brilliant, just what I needed. Small, compact and very easy to set up. The only thing was the lack of an extra usb for a Bluetooth dongle. This was easily sorted by setting up a Bluetooth proxy using Esphome and an ESP32 board. I bought my off Amazon as I'm impatient and wanted it straight away. They are available on The Pihut site as well. I have always had good service from them.”
“Love this, it's nicely expanded the home NAS setup that I had which was very underpowered. I was trying to run HA, plus about five other Docker containers on the NAS under UNRAID, but it just wasn't working. Now I've moved them all over to the HA Green, and they're working great, plus I was able to add Nextcloud, which was a major hope. The reason I chose the Green though was because I wanted a "here's the keys" solution for a newbie, so I chose it over the Yellow for that reason.”
“The actual unit I have no problem with. Installation and configuration was straightforward and easy to follow and many of my devices were automatically loaded. I have spent some time on tutorials as I'm a novice to Home Assistant, and I will persevere. Unfortunately I have Blink and Tapo devices particularly cameras. It seems at present that these devices are not fully supported e.g no live view on Blink cameras and Tapo cameras are not recognised. This may be ignorance on my part and I will continue to investigate in the community. Hope it goes well”
