Amazing little boards - definitely a little more fragile than a standard ESP32 though, so careful with your wiring (I've fried one already).

I am designing a network of wireless stations to control the signals on a garden railway layout based on these boards using the ESP-Now serial protocol. The price, size and general capability of these boards are just what I need and the ability to mount the separate antenna where it will be most effective means that I shouldn't drop any signals.

Tiny and works really well with ESPHome. It has a great Wifi signal strength, likely due to the external antenna. Power consumption is excellent when running it at 40Mhz for where power consumption matters. Based on my measurements it's about 20mA with Wifi connected. This will be my goto ESP model for where I don't need more GPIO pins, as the only downside of the C3 is that it only has 11 usable GPIO pins, but at least you get easy access to all of them on this device.

Really cool little board. Packed with features and yet takes up an extremely minimal amount of space.

Ideal esp32 for an outdoor light sensor. Small form factor with a small price to match. I'll be buying more very soon.
