This is a quality bit of kit, full aluminium frame which is heavy, comes with a nice screwdriver and magnetic side panels. Getting the pi installed is a bit fraught as it's so tight but once it's in everything else is really quick and easy. I installed rpi os without a desktop and installing the screen script was painless. Running with 2 drives in btrfs using retronas and everything just works. Would definitely buy again !!!

Very nicely made NAS enclosure for Pi 4 (NOT Pi 5, take note). A little bit noisy - I may try fitting a higher quality fan. The onboard RTC requires a CR1220 or CR1225 battery that is not included - Pi Hut do sell them, and could draw attention to this when you order. Of course, a NAS enclosure will usually be connected to a network and can get the time using NTP, so the RTC isn't really necessary.

Display died after a few months, and no support from piHut after creating a ticket.

PREVIOUS REVIEW WHEN NEW: Beautifully designed case, extremely well made and makes a very attractive NAS. UPDATE: The enclosure is now just about 3 months old and the display on the switch has already malfunctioned with only one line of the display visible. Disappointing!

Seems well made with a high quality finish, with very effective cooling for the Raspberry Pi. Makes cable management a lot easier. The fan is a little noisy but can be turned off if not needed. I found it very difficult to install the Raspberry Pi board - the ports extend into the cutouts in the back of the case, so you can’t position the Pi directly above the standoffs and press down, and you can’t insert the ports at an angle into the cutouts because one of the standoffs is in the way. I may have missed something but the only way I could find to fit the board was to remove the standoff and make do with only three out of the four. I don’t think a product at this price should have such a basic issue. That aside, it’s a neat all-in-one solution.

Item purchased to include in a project in MagPi Magazine, and is as described.

Well thought out enclosure that comes with everything you need. As other reviews state, you'll have to unscrew the back to get the Pi in.

Excellent case with millimeter precise manufaure - except 2 small flaws: The longer stan-offs that hold the Pi are 1-2mm too long, so the heatsink part of the case (with thermal pad on) does not contact the chip. I had to use a dremel to shorten them. Also, the instructions do not say to remove the back panel, but it is impossible to get the Pi in until you do.
