Needed to replace a 20 year old PC based NAS that was on its last legs. I'd several Pi4's sat around so decided to build a new Pi based system. Came across several reviews if this case online so decided to buy one. As per usual Pi Hit had the kit in stock at a reasonable price. The unit itself is very well engineered and well built and I had no problems assembling the Pi and hard drives into the case. It even came with a screwdriver. After installing the software, several weeks later I'm still in the process of transferring data from my old NAS but it's been performing very well! My only reservation is that even though the unit can take 4 drives only too of them can be 3.5" large drives, the other 2 have to be the smaller units. I bought the unit knowing this but it does seem like the unit was designed triangular more for looks rather than capacity. Overall well happy with the unit so far.

Excellent case for a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB. Other cases have struggled to keep the temperatures in control but this case has been doing so with ease. I haven't seen the CPU temperature exceed 40c yet. It has great aesthetics and, after sourcing a battery for the RTC, it has been running perfectly. Highly recommend this case!

Always great service from PiHut. Needed a quick NAS, this enclosure does the job much better than my old Netgear ReadyNAS boxes - great quality and quick delivery.

Solid piece of hardware, I'd upgraded this from the Argon ONE enclosure and it has worked perfectly with OpenMediaVault. The fan can be a little on the loud side but instances of this have been few and far between.

This is well made and looks great. However the instructions are not as good as they could be. There is no mention of the RTC battery type required (CR1220 or CR 1225 appears to be the correct type but I have not tried yet) The HDMI was a pain, hdmi_force_hotplug=1 and hdmi_drive=2 need to be uncommented or added to config.txt before hdmi will work. The link to install OpenMediaVault is different to that shown in the manual, however a quick look at the OMV website will point you in the right direction. The fan is a little noisy but all fans are, the argon-config script will allow some tailoring of the fan. Overall a solid piece of kit, I would definitely buy another one now I know how to configure it.

I currently have a raspberry pi media centre (built into an old SNES. I wanted more storage and an easier way to serve media to it. So I got this. It was easy to build and setup. Packaged very well too. Only thing I needed to do do was use slightly larger thermal pads than the ones in the box. Used 1.5mm as the supplied pads were bot giving me full contact. I have openmediavault running and its great. Temps are fine (thank god, as the supplied fan is very noisy. I recommend you use ssd's as more than one 3.5 hdd generates too much heat and you need thale fan running). Best to keep it cool so fan doesn't kick in.
