I was recently gifted this for Father’s Day and am mightily impressed. Code is simple and easy to write with MakeCode and can be transferred to the micro:bit either via usb from a computer, or via Bluetooth from the app on a phone or tablet. The batteries have lasted several days doing data logging too, so very little power required to run it. Lots of ideas for future projects, including a robot or two with my kid. 10/10 would recommend, especially if you have kids.

Great kit for kids to start with. Includes different types of IDEs - from drag-n-drop to multiple standard (close enough) programming languages. The device itself offers a wide range of options/capabilities/sensors to play with.

My daughter has enjoyed some of the basic programming so far. We just found it quite tricky to connect to the iPad app via Bluetooth. We had to watch a few online videos and are getting use to how to connect and download. It keeps my daughter occupied so a great little app for learning code and having fun.

The micro:bit V2 GO - Starter Kit is a great way to introduce kids to coding. It includes everything you need to start, and it’s super easy to use. An excited 8-year-old used it to program their Cutebot robot in no time — making it move and flash lights with simple code. It’s fun, educational, and perfect for young creators!

You can't beat the microbit for children and/or beginners. Cheap, cheerful, and packed with a remarkable number of features: LEDs, speaker, microphone, ADC, PWM, light sensor, sound sensor, temperature sensor, accelerometer, compass, Bluetooth, data logger, and 4 general purpose input/output pins for connecting analogue or digital devices, servos etc. If you've got more than one you can make them talk to each other. Coding is block-based (like Scratch) through the Microbit website. Brilliant piece of kit.

I was very worried that I wouldn’t know how to help my little one set the micro bit up but it was easy to follow. Chose to order through PiHut rather than online distributor and it was nice to have a clear idea of add-on purchases that brought the microbit to life.

A nice little bit of hardware. My son wanted us to get one as they use them at school. On its own however it is limited out of the box. Still, great little tool for learning python.
