Great for Learning and Experimenting with Coding! I recently got the BBC Micro:bit, and it has been an excellent tool for learning and experimenting with coding and electronics. It’s compact, beginner-friendly, and packed with features that make coding fun and interactive. Pros: ✅ Easy to Use – The drag-and-drop interface with MakeCode is perfect for beginners, while Python support allows for more advanced coding. ✅ Versatile Sensors – It comes with built-in sensors like an accelerometer, compass, and temperature sensor, which allow for creative projects. ✅ LED Display & Buttons – The 5x5 LED matrix is great for simple animations, and the programmable buttons make interactive projects easy. ✅ Wireless Communication – The Bluetooth feature enables connectivity with other devices and Micro:bits, expanding project possibilities. ✅ Great for Kids & Education – Perfect for introducing children to coding in a hands-on way. Cons: ⚠ Limited Memory – It has some limitations when running complex programs. ⚠ No Built-in Battery – You need an external power source or battery pack for portable projects. Overall, the Micro:bit is a fantastic tool for beginners, students, and hobbyists looking to explore coding and electronics. It’s affordable, easy to use, and offers endless possibilities for creative projects. Highly recommended!

This is a great starterkit for the BBC Micro:bit. The microbit is a great way to get kids started with programming. The app on your phone or computer is easy to use and the Microbit has lots of sensors, such as temperature, light, heat, compas and motion. So there are lots of projects you can do with out needing any extensions or add on modules.

A good introduction to both hardware and programming, with plenty of scope to expand it with add-ons and kits, and even combine it with Lego-type kits to create diverse projects. There is also a huge amount of free information and projects available. And it's also very affordable. The micro:bit has been oversold as a thing for primary school, which is a shame, because it is valid for all ages. They should be selling these to retirement homes as well!
