“Just propped it on top of my RPI4 and it reduced CPU temp from 69 degC down to 43 degC. The fan is virtually silent. You'd have to be in a very quiet environment to hear it.”
“So i got this because my Kodi box has started overheating in the warmer weather while watching some higher quality videos. I'm sure the fan is very effective but i had a couple of issues.
1) I am running a Pi 3. I had to modify the case I have it in. Took a bit of work with a Dremel and it is still a bit of a tight fit but not a big deal. Just be aware that this may not be a simple plug and play job depending on your case/setup.
2) It's loud. Obviously and frustratingly loud. So loud it would drown out anything i tried to watch while running it, which kindof defeats the purpose. I've seen some accounts of hooking it up to a 3 volt pin but you would have to separate the pins and some additional technical work which i just don't have the time for. Especially since i'm not convinced it would make enough of a difference.
In summary, if you are just a little worried that your pi might overheat or trying to squeeze a little extra performance out of it before it starts throttling, buy a heat sink and maybe look at ventilating you case a bit better. The only real use for this i could see is if you are using this for bitcoin mining or some other 24/7 high intensity application.
I'm sure it's a very effective fan, but not right for the application i had in mind.”
“Fan works ok good value, but the best about pie hut is the delivery you get your goods in two days there’s a delivery charge well worth it order a few items same charge”
