“Remarkable value for the money. If you are using it on a pi zero you need to fiddle with the default settings since pi zero normally sends out sound through the HDMI plug. I am using it with shairport-sync and you need to change the confusion file with the line output_device = "hw1" to force it to use the usb port.
Works well then!”
“On the basis of earlier reviews I was expecting a little bit better sound quality. Now there's a continuous buzzing noise which can be heard on the background, specially when using headphones. An other irritating thing is the incredibly bright red light flashing through the device casing.”
“Having dusted off an old but good quality audio amplifier to play my vinyl I also wanted to be able to play all my MP3 material through it, so researched a Raspberry Pi project and found RuneAudio as an excellent application but the Pi's audio quality needed to be improved. This extraordinary low cost USB sound card let me simply plug the headphone output into the amplifier and it worked really well straight out of the box - highly recommend it, although the only down side is that the red LED on the unit is way too bright.”
“Works as output device for the Moode Player Software on a Raspberry Pi 3 into a amplifier input meant for tape decks. Other inputs meant for CD players lead to unsatisfactory sound quality, which is to be expected. Very bright red LED is annoying.”
