You need just modify a few parameter in the conf.txt within the raspbian os, and adjust the monitor resolution. Final result is a slightly stretched monitor output. But it is fine to do what we do with raspy.

Good adapter at a great price. I found their was a bit of interference when using the audio jack on the adapter, but this could have been because I used a cheap cable. I ended up not using the HDMI audio because of this.

This is a great piece of kit for repurposing old monitors. It worked perfectly first time, connecting my new Pi 400 to an old Sony 17" monitor. The pack includes a USB power cable, because it is an 'active' interface. This plugged into one of the spare micro-USB connectors on the Pi 400. It also included a headphone socket and phono cable, which I have connected to a desktop speaker. This is a great value and well thought out accessory.

It works excellently. I haven't tested it with a CRT monitor yet but it works great with my lcd.
