Be careful how you fit it,

Can't think of much that can be said about such a simple block, except that it works. Multiple colors for color coding a plus.

A useful addition. A large heatsink to help cool down your Pi during heavy processing operations. The size of two large first class stamps, it can be a tight fit between the display, GPIO and camera ribbon cables. Thermal backing tape included on the base of the heatsink.

Does a good job keeping the temperature at a steady 50°. Easy to install.

The use of a single heatsink to cool the circuitry of the Pi is a good idea. The even dissipation of heat provides an effective and efficient method of the thermal control of your little computer. I expect that there will be situations where the heatsink might not fit perfectly into some Pi cases, especially when using a fan but this is not really an issue with the wide range of cases that are available. I recommend this product.

Good contact with the processor and a large surface area to dissipate heat. Using it under a fan shim with great results, although the thermal pad doesn't seem to make good contact with the other board components so I'm worried it acts as a heat trap for them more than cooling them.

Does it's job, does it well. For £2 from a proper shop it's worth it, especially if you like the nice colour options and need a low profile. However, it only covers the CPU, not the memory or bridges. In fact it sits above the memory module without touching it, creating a hotspot. RAM heat shouldn't be an issue for most though. If you want a RAM heatink as well as this, position the sink 90 deg from what the picture shows and buy a roughly 14x10mm (ish) sink for the RAM. The cooler being offset is fine. Don't push hard at a funny angle tho as it'll now be touching smaller componants. A thicker pad will negate this. Side note; this is small enough for me to fit a 5v fan above the sink, attached to the top of my KKSB case with wire ties (there's definatly prettier ways... hack culture and all that tho..)
