“Very smooth looking case keeping the RPi's CPU chip cooler and the RPi4 secure. I wasn't so keen on the plastic top to the case, which is a heat insulator, after all why do to a lot of detailed design work to conduct the heat away from the CPU chip only for the heat to be contained within the metal structure of the case's lid? If covered with a black anodised aluminium sheet, instead of the plastic sheet, then this would radiate heat and look just as smooth. Or turn the sheet into a thin heatsink - give it a hedgehog look perhaps? For anyone new looking at cases, this case design has quite a specific target use because access to the three on-board connector strips (40-pin GPIO strip, Camera strip and Display strip) is almost impossible without modifying the aluminium case - someone else may have reported a suitable hack?”
“Have been using Raspberry Pi's since there launch so when the Pi4 came out I realised I would need a new case. This case looks great but also does a wonderful job as being the heatsink for the Pi (which you will notice as it gets warm). The Pi4 is good precision fit in there so no worries of getting to your various ports and sockets. So, good bought one for my son and his little project.”
“Ordered the case as soon as the stock got replenished. Great quality, very easy to assemble and it lowered the idle temperature of my rPi4 by about 20°C at the cost of the case becoming quite warm to the touch.”
“This case is pretty good at keeping the pi cool but there are some points buyers should be aware of. There were no instructions with the case when I received it. Although quite easy to work out how things went together there is a definite knack to getting thing to go together. Also once the case has warmed up, it obviously takes time to cool down, this is not an issue but something to be aware of if your pi has been overcooked.”
“The most critical inner surface of this case is the one that drains the heat from the SoC. Unfortunately it was the one chosen by design to be one of the molding hole. The heal was removed by some mills tool. A grinder/refacer would make the real job or the hole would be on the opposite surface which is not critical.”
