“A smart aluminium-casting case with a square of heat transfer "blue tac" that seems to work very well.
Fits the RasPi 4 beautifully and protects it.
I've routed a camera cable through the slot for the header cable.
Tempted to 3D print a new top as the black one is crying out for a logo (and my grubby mits keep leaving marks on its pristine surface.)”
“Very well constructed, takes minutes to fit your Pi. Tip - fit the heatsink pad first to the CPU, then hold at a 45 degree angle slipping the HDMI, Power and Audio sockets in first. The Pi will then drop onto the four mounting points. I tried first by trying to fit the USB and Lan ports in which doesn't work. Screws together with 4 threaded screws, no cheap self tappers here. Does smell a little at first, but will no doubt wear off with use. Sadly my case was missing one foot pad on the bottom, hopefully just one of those things. I've just ordered a second one so will see.
Runs around 40-45C with a light load and an ambient temp of 22C.”
“When I first got the latest Pi I also bought the official Pi case. However, when I switched on my new Pi for the first time the first thing I noticed was a temperature warning icon flashing on and off when it was booting! My room was also getting noticeably hot when the Pi was switched on.
I am very pleased to report that since I received my new Pi 4 Flirc case the “over temperature warning (80-85C)” icon has yet to appear! So this product gets a 5 star rating from me!”
