“Wow, I didn’t even knew this existed, I just reconfigured Home Assistant to use Nginx Proxy Manager so I could use Plex without opening up a port on my router and part of this process was to migrate my Home Assistant Database to MariaDB and maybe use an SSD which is what got me looking for new cases, first I had to move my linked Pi 4B from my kitchen along with Hue & Hive as they were all linked to my router by a power plug which failed for the last 3 days I was away on holiday meaning I had no access to HA so as soon as I got back I reconfigured my network so everything was in the same place with no links that could fail again or need resetting when your not in a position to do this. So after upgrading to an eight port switch from a five port switch and moving everything into my front room so I could plug all my devices into my router I discovered that the canna case I had was real noisy. Something had to be done so I researched cases and was gonna get an Argon One V2 so I could add an SSD to replace my SD card, however found out that this would give me the same issue. This is when I discovered the FLIRC case, I read the hype and saw it was fan less and the case acted as a heat sink, so I went for it and I am not disappointed. The highest the temp has been since installing this case is roughly 43.6°C my PI now runs around 38/40° even on high load and I get no noise. Which is exactly what I needed having the device installed in my front room. Highly recommended.”
“Great build quality, but despite having an opening at the bottom for GPIO connectivity, standard jumper wires can't fit inside the case because the hard plastic bits are too high.”
