“This is a really nice camera with a great field of view. Due to the large lens it obviously won't fit in the standard pi-zero case but can wrap-around to stick to the underside. Using this to stream video from a remote controlled car and it's working well with a responsive video feed over wifi - even at high resolution.”
“This little camera itself great once I got it working. Surprisingly good image quality given the size and bargain price. I didn’t initially realise that it had a focus ring though, so once I discovered that and could sharpen the image considerably it made a big difference. Not so good in lower light, but I’d be silly to expect It to be so that’s in no way a complaint.
Word of warning to anyone setting this up with a pi zero using the ‘motion’ package, I initially set up with the latest stable release of pi OS and the camera wouldn’t be recognised by motion at all, despite hours of fiddling and forum trawling. It was driving me nuts and I thought maybe the camera was a dud, but it did work using libracam etc so was confusing. In the end, a last ditch effort I reinstalled the zero with the legacy 32bit pi OS and repeated my steps (after enabling the camera interface) and it worked perfectly almost immediately and been smooth sailing ever since.
Hopefully that may help someone else who found themselves in a similar situation.”
