“I have now bought all three CamJam EduKits and am very impressed by the value for money. The free software supplied is what makes these invaluable, and when they have all been rewritten for GPIOZero they will represent unbeatable value.”
“It's a pretty good introduction to using GPIO on the Pi. It illustrates very basic ways of doing things (i.e. polling for button clicks, and blocking using time.sleep) in rather verbose code. It's a good start, but there's not a lot you an do with it other than the very basic examples provided, given the limited components (but you can't expect too much for a fiver I suppose).
I'd have like to have seen information on ways to improve the code, e.g. using interrupts and callbacks.”
“Everything in a box! The ideal starter set for experimenting with GPIO ports of yours RaspberryPi. Perfect for doing workshops or user groups talks about RaspberryPi. Bring all the electronic components you need in this practical box. Also to a really affordable price!”
“The pack comes in a compact box and includes breadboard, wires and components. The user then goes to the website to download the instruction sheet. Went through this with my 14 year old son and he found it simple enough - writing the code and setting up the components. The code is well documented and broken down to show which parts do which functions. On the whole, very good - we have both kit 1 & 2 and are now thinking about further expansion. One suggestion would be for the pack to suggest further reading, projects etc so that it's more of a springboard than a standalone project.”
“Having purchased several of these for friends, I find them excellent as a starting point, with just the right parts and excellent documentation and sample code.”
