Having purchased a Pi zero and a Pi3 to get my 9 year old grandson interested in electronics, computing and robotics, the CamJam Edukit was the logical first step. He managed to follow the circuit diagram and had the LEDs working in no time. I am already looking at the CamJam EduKit#3 to take him to the next stage.

We home educate and our new Raspberry Pi is our project for the next 12 months. However, with the three kits we bought off CamJam this is going to be the best year yet. The kits really bring computer coding into exciting territory. If I hadn't bought for the boys, I would be building and coding myself. The boys are very engaged and the step-by-step downloadable worksheets mean even I can help them if they get stuck. Really happy with the kits and think they are excellent value for money.

A very simple kit very powerful to help you get your kids into basics. You can create the kit by yourself... but be honest, you will never do and the guys had done a great job in the packaging and instructions... happy bits

This kit is an excellent introduction to programming on the PI. I liked the way the the final project acts as a test for what you learned, you have to fill in much of the code yourself. Looking forward to Kit 2!

I have now bought all three CamJam EduKits and am very impressed by the value for money. The free software supplied is what makes these invaluable, and when they have all been rewritten for GPIOZero they will represent unbeatable value.

It's a pretty good introduction to using GPIO on the Pi. It illustrates very basic ways of doing things (i.e. polling for button clicks, and blocking using time.sleep) in rather verbose code. It's a good start, but there's not a lot you an do with it other than the very basic examples provided, given the limited components (but you can't expect too much for a fiver I suppose). I'd have like to have seen information on ways to improve the code, e.g. using interrupts and callbacks.
