During setup and testing I had problems with continuous false detection. After lots of web searching I tracked this down to interference from the Pi 3 WiFi. It was solved in the short term by turning WiFi off, and in the longer term by using a longer cable - the original cable was about 6 inches - anything over 12" seems to be OK. The Pi Hut description doesn't list the part number, which made tracking down troubleshooting info difficult. For future reference, it the part no is HC-SR501. There is a good website on the setup here: http://henrysbench.capnfatz.com/henrys-bench/arduino-sensors-and-input/arduino-hc-sr501-motion-sensor-tutorial/

Work really well, it does need to come with some instruction however just to make it a little easier to get running rather than running off to a search engine.

Despite the lack of labels on the pins, it is fairly straightforward after reading the other reviews!

Purchased this PIR sensor to start my first r-pi project. Its compact, easy to configure and setup. A low sensitivity setting was the key to expected results in my case. Currently using my sensor to write date/time to a text file on movement detection.

This is OK for that it cost, but no url or scrap piece of paper explaining which pins did what.. Seem's a little hard to set the sensitivity, but it was only £2
