I bought this to experiment with. Unfortunately I just haven't had time as I've been focussed on making an improved robot. It appears to be well made though.

Great PIR sensor for use as presence detector in a magic mirror (https://magicmirror.builders). Switches off the monitor whe no one is around for more than 2 minutes and turns it back on when triggered. The sensor has a very wide angle so 8t triggers the circuit as someone is approaching from the side too. Setting potentiometers are quite sensitive but easily adjustable.

Well one Star removed because the back was little bit bent. But it worked.

It works. However, on the model I received the connectors are not labelled, and they are in the opposite order to those shown on the CamJam worksheet. Looking from the back, with the connector at the bottom then the +ve connection is to the left, 0v to the right and sensor output in the middle. It looks as though the module has a polarity protection diode, so connecting it up the wrong way probably won't cause any harm, although it won't work. For confirmation, this version has the small regulator chip on the left hand side (same side as the +ve pin) and the larger chip on the right hand side. There are also two preset pots at the top, but again there is no label indicating their functionality.

The PIR was easy to setup and works excellent activating the camera. Have just orfered a couple of additional units for next projects

It works well enough but mounting in a simple breadboard type scenario is awkward. A casing similar to that available for the pi camera would be good.
