“When I looked into buyin the raspberry pi I read that the heat sinks wernt vital but its still worth buying with the over clocking facility in the distros so you can run the pi to the max and further.”
“I have bought a number of HotPi expansion boards for the Raspberry Pi. This adds useful extra functionality eg temperature-controlled fan, battery-backed clock, IR controller and LED function eg to report over-temperature events, software-upgrades available etc. I have also bought heat-sinks for the CPU to help support over-clocking. Purchases have arrived promptly and in good condition. When I have contacted PiHut they have been professional. I will be happy to buy through them in the future.”
“Bought the Pi Hut RP Media Combo and am very pleased with the product and the fast shipping. The heatsink worked well and does the job. Heat is never a good thing and anything I can do to help is usually done. I do notice that the heatsink pictured on the website seems to be a little taller than the one supplied in the Media Combo. If you purchase heatsinks for the RP, consider getting three. One each for the cpu, network control chip as well as the voltage regulator chip. They all get very warm/hot My RP typically runs at about 118 F. when running XMBC Frodo/XBian. I'm not able to do precise measurements. Overall, I,m very happy.”
