“So, once I'd sorted out my power supply problems with the Pi I wanted to give it a test to give myself confidence that it is now stable and I could continue in my Pi quest.
With the heat sink installed, which is very easy to do, it has been running a soak test for the last 4 days (200 odd hours) with no problems at all. We're now in the middle of a heatwave here, and the room it lives in is upstairs and really not that cool - a good test methinks.
The heat sink is warm to the touch, but definitely not hot enough to say Ow! Previously the IC was very hot to the touch.
So well done the heat sink, I can now move on with confidence.”
“I'm really pleased with my heat sink, it's cool looking object as well as drawing heat away, it was not expensive so I feel that for a pi running constantly or for long periods this is advisable”
“I had noticed that some chips warmed too much in my raspberry so I thought I'd put some heatsinks. Is it not amazing when you choose, pick & go? Ok, this is it at The Pi Hut. It was fast, easy and pleasant. What else can you ask for?”
