Create the file /etc/modprobe.d/8192cu.conf and add the line
options 8192cu rtw_power_mgnt=0 rtw_enusbss=0
Then reboot. Solid after that.”
“The adapter arrived on time at a reasonable price and very good postage. I plugged it in, set up WiFi on my Raspberry Pi, and it didn't work. I realised I had set up the security mode to WPA-PSK2 instead of WPA-PSK which is what I needed. I corrected my mistake and the adapter worked straight away without the need to load any drivers. I have used the Pi upstairs where my router is located and downstairs on the main TV and have had no problems at all. This adapter seems to be an excellent, neat piece of kit. I have given it 4 stars as I haven't rated anything at 5 stars yet. I would recommend this adapter and Pi Hut postage is way cheaper than the company I was going to buy this from.”
