“System wide does not work half of the time... Need to manual switch (sys prefs) from UAD to reference a few times before it "sticks" If I start studio one it stops working completely, have to use the plugin version inside Studio One”
“So far, it's been a disaster. 8 days ago I bought the upgrade, went to install it, and it errored and failed. I uninstalled Reference 4 thinking that might help, no dice. Reached out to support, waited a couple days, and got a response asking for logs. I sent the logs. Waited a couple more days and got a response that they'd received the logs. Waited 4 more days and received an email asking for different log files. And so, we wait...”
“I don't notice much/any functionality difference between reference 4 studio and SoundID reference. What I did notice is I was kinda forced to upgrade to get rid of an issue with Safari browsers causing stuttering audio when Reference 4 was running. Reference 4 studio was running perfectly and I had no reason to need to upgrade. But so be it, I guess. Unfortunate.”
“Installed, still getting intermittent pops and clicks like later versions of Referece 4 Studio when simply listening to music or YouTube. But worst of all about a week into the upgrade with SoundID and it just simply stopped working all together. I can't launch it, its not an available source in system prefs > audio. Uninstall, reinstall still will not function. I have a ticket out that hasn't been responded to yet, but honestly I paid $89 to have a completely non-functioning version of the app. Will this review even get posted? I just wish more attention was spent on basic functionality rather than these new features. All of that means nothing if it doesn't work.”
