“After not using Reference 4 for some time due to changing locations, with the new Apollo integration I decided it was time to upgrade to SoundID. I took my measurements, used an average Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (tweaked the EQ to 80% wet) and I'm not looking back. It's as if my speakers and headphones got an upgrade. Everything is clearer, it's easier to hunt for frequencies, my headphones are far less fatiguing (the DT770s are so bright!) and no more painful room resonances in the low/low mids. And I got to use the same reference mic I bought all those years ago. Really happy with how this worked out and love the ability to tweak the settings for each of my Apollo x8's headphone outs. Not just highly recommended, SoundID is essential.”
“Been using for years, and now with the UAD integrtion my wildest dreams have finally come true. I can have Sonarworks on my speakers but leave my headphones flat - wow!”
“Just like working with Sound ID now, I found Reference pretty helpful in the studio. However, I had the impression that features had been removed in the meantime, only to have to buy them again when upgrading to Sound ID (the option to listen to the mix via virtual test environments was once included as standard and now costs extra). And like Reference, Sound ID is not quite as stable in the DAW, even if the workflow is somewhat easier and less labor-intensive.”
“I own many pairs of headphones because is my main source of listenting.
Sonarworks is here to the rescue.
Has everything I need for causual listening and mixing & producing.
Highly recommend Sonarworks products! :)”
“The upgrade was essential to make it compatible with the new Apple operating system, and I must say that after the update, the program works excellently.”
