I think it’s great and work brilliantly. The only downside for me is the need to use the plug-in on the master channel instead of just use it as a system background app

A short and honest review. The software performs well and has huge benefits but it's a little bit difficult to write music because of the latency introduced. So a high-performance machine and audio IO is essential while using this software, Working on a Mid-2015 MBP I am struggling to write any music while using it because there are a lot of audio dropouts and a huge latency. (140ms). This can add up a lot to the overall latency. Performance-wise I like the calibration done when using a measurement microphone, don't like the available headphone presets so much. Tested on Audio Technica M50X, maybe others are better. Overall the software gives great advantages at a cost.

I sound treated my new studio and wanted to measure the acoustics before/after. I got "REW" but it was a bit of a hassle to set up and get going, and at the same time a friend told me to check out Sonarworks. Although this software didn't do what I originally intended to do, It still got my attention. The studio was full of absorbers, and I knew I could invest more in bass traps, but what if I could calibrate the speakers and meet halfway? I tried the trial version with a calibration mic I previously bought. My speakers started sounding WAY better than before, but was this "correct"? The sound was warm, full and rich, My Yamaha HS7's was on steroids. My test mixes sounded great everywhere and especially the low- and midrange was spot on. I knew I had to get this, and Black Friday was coming up, so the purchase was a no-brainer. Downsides? The M1 compatibility is not there yet, I have to restart the software as soon as I set to sleep, or if the screensaver starts, several times a day - but it still deserves five stars! As of now, my friend that recommended this is borrowing my mic and will also do a calibration. I just told him he has to do it - end of discussion. /Christian, Sweden

As a monitoring tool it is very helpful to work towards showing me what I am hearing in my mixes. As for all tools, I am reluctant to say it has totally fixed all my monitoring issues. It's just good to have a base line tonal and phase corrected mix for working on my studio monitors. The headphone flattener curve changed the mix on my Beyerdynamic 1990's by removing the top end hype. I tend to flick between listening to them as-is and through the Sonarworks tonal correction.
