I bought Sonarworks SoundID Reference to calibrate my Genelec 8040 monitors. I chose this software because of its strong reputation and the excellent reviews from users. Building my dream studio had been a dream of mine since I was a teenager - and today, I was finally able to make that dream come true. Combined with Audient iD44 and Oria Mini, it created what I consider to be the perfect setup for electronic music. Not only for production itself, but also for listening to my favorite artists with true passion. After adding the Genelec 7050, music gained a completely new dimension - I started hearing details I had never noticed before. Sonarworks smoothed out the sound and made everything feel more cohesive, natural, and subtle. Thanks to this, my small 10 m² music room - equipped with 6 acoustic panels and 6 bass traps (which I built together with my mom :) ) - became incredibly accurate and acoustically precise. For the first time, I felt like I was no longer listening to the equipment, but to the music itself. What impressed me the most was how much it changed the way I experience sound. I started rediscovering tracks I had known for years in a completely new way - hearing space, depth, and tiny nuances that had previously been hidden in the mix. It’s an amazing feeling when you close your eyes and get goosebumps. Those are exactly the moments that make investing in great sound truly worth it. The only thing I didn’t fully like were the “hidden” costs. When buying the Oria Mini, I didn’t realize the software had to be purchased separately. Then, after buying the software itself, I found out that an additional plugin was required to export the calibration profile to the device. It’s not really about the cost - I understood that professional solutions come at a price - but rather about transparency throughout the process. It would have been much better to know the full cost of the entire system from the beginning, without unexpected surprises along the way. Despite that, I truly believe the software is absolutely worth its price - the difference is audible with just a single switch. The room calibration process itself was incredibly simple and intuitive. Today, I can enjoy outstanding sound quality, and my small studio has become a place I return to every day with inspiration and motivation to create. That’s why I believe Sonarworks SoundID Reference is not just another calibration tool - it’s something that allows you to truly hear music the way it was meant to be heard. Highly recommended!

I already owned the Sonarworks reference mic from a previous setup, so I simply purchased the download-only version of SoundID Reference. The process was seamless. Calibrating my new ADAM A8H monitors was a breeze, and the results are stunning—the low-end is much tighter and the stereo imaging is far more defined. It’s the best way to get the most out of high-end monitors like the A8Hs.

Pretty good to use as a guide/cross reference. Seems to put things in a place where there are less revision requests, but not always. Can't use it full time as it seems to strip a little dynamic or something from the sound of the natural speakers. Maybe that's the algorythm working I'm not sure. I imagine a perfectly corrected room with natural speaker sound would be quite superior, but I'm sure they don't contest that idea either. But great software for being aware of any particular room deficiencies and doing a quick reference with eq correction over the speakers during mixing and/or mastering.

Sonorworks SoundID Reference is a fantastic tool for flattening out monitors and headphones and really levels the playing field for many different types of studio grade monitors. I would recommend that the Measure application fail with more information why it's failing. In this case, I was able to get into the actual speaker measurement before it failed several times, so I had to go back and actually read the docs, which is to be expected, but it still could be more clear on exactly why it's failing and what to read.

I've noticed a noticeable improvement in preparing quick mixes for my band. They praise me for how well they sound on any equipment, and I don't have to waste time comparing recordings on multiple monitors. We focus on creative work, and that's the most important thing. The equipment is designed to make this work easier. I highly recommend Sonarworks SondID reference. Monitor and headphone calibration is a great thing, especially if you don't have a professional studio, but just the comfort of your home.
