“This software has totally changed my mixing. Like many home studios, I’m in an imperfect room. This allows me to check mixes on speakers and different headphones and have much better translation.”
“I use SoundID 5 for mixing in my DAW, and it's worked as it should, about the EQ correction part. But there is a big issue with CPU usage, it will cause CPU spikes in several minutes. It seems to switch to Reference 4 VST2 version never triggers this kind of problem, but SoundID 5 VST3 version will. I hope it gets fixed ASAP because I can't even use it.”
Hi, thanks for your review, we really appreciate!
I'm very sorry to hear you are encountering some issues with the CPU spiking while using the DAW plugin. We are aware of some issues with the CPU usage while running the plugin, more details and workaround suggestions can be found here: https://www.sonarworks.com/support/soundid-reference/360003040100-Troubleshooting/3600[…]086994-High-CPU-load-with-SoundID-Reference-plugin-on-Intel
I will reach out to you privately to gather some more information on your environment, so we can look further into this.
Best regards,
Zane
“After trial period, I bought a full licence because it was the right choice to finish my home studio. I needed to optimize my equipment (Adam T7V) and my acoustic treated room. Now that’s as good as it gets”
“Downloading and installing is easy, but without a calibrated measuring microphone there will be a none-flat-curve as outcome. You need to buy a measuring microphone, if you buy it togetter you have to spend less money.”
“The core functionality (measuring and calibrating) works very well. The only category of issues I have is the instability of the main app. Sometimes it fails to switch presets and displays an error. I have to restart the app a couple of times every day to make it work again. Also sometimes it crashes when macOS goes to sleep/wake state and/or when I switch audio interfaces. macOS 12.6.1 M1 Pro 16GB”
