“The general sound quality of the Sonos Beam Gen 2 is very good. Using it for playing music it is fine. People say it lacks low bass. A bit, but the multiple class D amps of the mid range woofers generate a decent weight IMO. I have found a bug though. In that Spotify Connect takes two clicks to stop the running TV or Radio feed running & before firing up your Spotify music. It's a known issue from about 4 years ago that SONOS claim to have fixed with a patch some time ago on all their speakers. But the Beam Gen 2 still has it it seems (fyi my existing Roam 2 doesn't have the same problem, probably due to the lack of the TV feed that on the Beam the first attempt at launching Spotify Connect has to seemingly disengage before the second click actually plays music...). I have found a temporary fix is to uninstall your Spotify user in Sonos and re set it up. But how long that will last is debatable from what I have read online. Not a show stopper but not a problem I have ever had on my Bluesound setups .. In terms of the TV link. I am only using the optical/HDMI feed until I acquire a more modern TV (next stage). But the sound is fine with 2 Channel PCM. So far playing dvds that should be capable of Basic Dolby Digital however. I am only getting PCM for some reason? I haven't worked out yet why. I know ATMOS will only work with a new TV and eARC etc. But would expect Dolby via the Optical converter nonetheless. Work in progress so far then. Overall apart from the above it's a good quality soundbar. But SONOS still has some issues following Thier poor app launch last year it seems.”

“In the short time I have had with the 'Beam' I have to say it's an excellent Soundbar complementing my Panasonic TV very well. I may add the Sonos mini sub at a later date as the reviews of that seem intriguing even though I like the sound of the Beam. To be continued!...”

“A beautiful successor to the original Beam, with Dolby Atmos making an even better experience. I like the grille on the front rather than material on the first gen, easier to clean and looks the part.”

“Astonishing power and clarity from the Beam. Enough heft for the action scenes without losing the dialogue. Love the compact deisgn too. I'll probably add some extra Sonos speakers (especially if I win a voucher!) :-D”
