If you don't play golf every day and still want a nice watch for daily use, then don't buy the X5. The battery life is 14 times worse than my V3. The V3 lasts about two weeks between charges off-season so I wear it every day. The X5 barely lasts one day, so I put my V3 back on if I won't be playing. Granted, the new features the X5 offers while playing golf are better than my V3, but the X5 only has value on the course.

From the outset, it took a little time to get used to the new watch after upgrading from the V3. However now after logging dozens of games with it, I find that it is so indispensable that I would never go back to any other system.

Really good for tracking shots and love seeing the actual distances I’m hitting all my clubs! Also appreciate it’s a buy once with no subscription costs!

I was debating on which watch to get the Garmin or the Shotscope. The lure of all the stats got me to go with the Shotscope partially due to price. I look at the metrics and some of them are interesting, but I have to understand them, and it’s not the easiest! Shots gained, does that mean +/-? I like it because it shows my distances. The watch itself is nice, but the Garmin is really nice. It misses a few shots a round which I have been learning more on how to fix. I have to keep my score on the card, and then look back, “to see what the watch missed” Getting better, I think there has been 5 or 6 firmware updates since I got it. I appreciate the effort, but, sometimes there are just so many steps to get to what you want. All in all “A nice watch”

Have had problems uploading rounds, taking up to 45 mins. Similar rounds uploaded in less than 1 min. Also having problems connecting watch to app. Great when it works but frustrating when it doesn't.

This is a great product that makes a lot of great information accessible. It has been great to see all the information about my golf game in easy to digest graphs. There have been a couple of bugs trying to use the watch at the actual golf course or keeping it connected to my phone, but with a little bit of patience I've been able to work through those. The information is worth working for.

The X5 watch gives good accurate on course data to hazards and layups etc. don't really use the pin location function as this seems a bit of a faff on the course. Recent upgrades to firmware have made the watch more responsive and easier to get to things like adding a penalty shot. The tracking of shots with the tags is pretty accurate and recent upgrade that records shots as you go is better than manual entry. If you like tracking your stats and understanding how you compare against your peers this is the watch for you.

I'm a data junky. I love data. Sometimes I even use that data. The good: Data is good, tracking is pretty solid. The great: Customer service is OUTSTANDING. If you find a problem with course mapping or course data, Bob's your uncle with these folks. The not so great: When wet the touch screen is finicky at best. When dry it can be touchy. The tough to stomach: The battery; I occasionally play 36 holes in a day, you might get 27 holes with a fresh charge, will NOT get 36. Battery life is worse that an iPhone 4 after 2 years of updates.
