For some reason the X5 was released without what was a vital feature for me as my home course has 9 holes with 3 of them having dual greens On the V3 I am able to see yardages to both greens and also the watch recognises which green I am on when adding my putts I first contacted Shot Scope in June about this and was advised this feature would be included in an update but no idea when As such I have reverted to using my V3

There are many features on this watch, I sometimes forget to use them all as I just want to get on with the game. Such as penalty drops and putting counters. All can be edited later once round is downloaded. One of the better features are the green maps and being able to move the pin to an approximation. If you want to play 2 rounds a day, use a charge pack between rounds. Tracking the use of clubs in the course is only good so long as the club tags are working, so replace when necessary. The tee maps are sometimes wrong but you can alter them on your downloaded round. Support is usually good at sorting this too. I do like the statistics features at the end of the round, based on the day to your season. Also how your club playing distances help you think about what you need to play to those distances. I’ve just downloaded the ebooks, let’s see if they help me improve.

Really liked the idea of the X5, took up the upgrade offer after being a V2 and then V3 user... sold my V3 to help fund the purchase of the X5, however, I've regretted that decision ever since. The V3 wasn't as expensive and worked perfectly even in the rain. The X5 is rendered utterly useless once it starts raining - the screen often jumps you a few holes ahead, or will start logging putts for you if you're on manual putt mode like I use, or it can sometimes shut itself off completely. I contacted Shotscope support who are usually extremely helpful, asking for a refund or if I could have it swapped for a V3, but they said they have no more V3's in stock anymore and declined the refund. Only positive, is when it's dry, the watch/yardages work fine.

Touchscreen if hard to work. Battery only works for a max of 20 holes. I would love to use the watch as a everyday watch but with the low battery it is no good. Gives you great data on your golf game! Love the Dashboard online. App is so so…

It is not without temperamental issues now and again, but it is an integral part of my game now and the latest update has taken it to another level. A special mention goes to the prompt and efficient folks on the help desk, when required. Worth every penny!

I've used the X5 for a number of months now. I bought is at release to replace my V3. It had some teething issues at first, of which most have been fixed. But unlike my V3 i've had some issues with the X5. Tag breaking for no reason, charger no longer working. All were replaced without issues but still, it seems the build quality has slipped a bit. And the touch screen still functions poorly in rain, also rainwear covering the watch and dragging on the screen seems to randomly activate options and drain the battery. It's better than it was but not fixed completely. I would still recommend it but with some remarks.

I was one of the first people to get the X5 at first i found a few teething problems but most if not all have been ironed out by the Shotscope staff. It improves with every update . It really out scores the other golf watches . Very happy
