Works great! My only critical feedback: 1. I wish the PCIe cable was a wee bit longer 2. You should replace the bottom screws with standoffs so you don't need the rubber feet

I threw a second hand Crucial P3 Plus 4TB M.2 (CT4000P3PSSD8) at it, enabled the experimental pcie3 mode in raspi-config and it works. (your mileage may or may not burst into flames) I haven't done any benchmarks apart from "it's still working after a few days" but it's been solid thus far.

The NVMe Base by Pimoroni was chosen over other available alternatives due to its design, functionality, ability to accommodate 2230-2242-2260-2280 M.2 NVMe SSDs, and the retail price being approx. half that of its nearest competitors. A Kioxia Exceria G2 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe 3D TLC SSD was installed on the NVMe Base (as that was one brand model which has been tested and benchmarked by Pimoroni) and the YouTube video installation guide was reviewed for the purpose or assembly and installing it on the Raspberry Pi 5. There were no issues or problems at all. Everything went together and worked first time from the outset without any issues in the meantime. I have to hand it to Pimoroni, who have created the NVMe Base and given excellent after-sales customer support and documentation (and videos) to make life easier. If only other suppliers would take note of Pimoroni's example in that respect. I've been running the NVMe Base with my Slackware AArch64 test-rig setup for approx. 2 days and the increased speed and data throughput are off the charts and awe inspiring. I am so glad to have chosen the NVMe Base over other alternatives and could not be happier with it. Thank you very much indeed Pimoroni.

device arrived nicely packaged and quicker than I expected on a pre-order. It is well designed and everyrthing fits together nicely. installed a 500gb nvme and installed Home Assistant. everything is running very well. I am very happy with this, neat affordable upgrade. so much better than a usb ssd!

Fitting the ribbon connector is a bit awkward - in my case I found it easier to fit to the base first, the reverse of the video. This is the nature of the technology and not a criticism. The base is well thought out (you can get at the SD card), the kit came with everything you need - 5-stars all the way.
