“Largely plug and play, took a little while to get access to the web interface and a couple of reboots but once accessed transferring the Tuya kit over was easy but still seems to use the backend of Tuya for access. Lots to investigate but overall a good easy start to Home Assistant and starting the journey away from automation as a data collection service.”
“Plus points: (1) It worked out of the box. (2) It seems pretty rugged. (3) I bought it so that I could set up GivTCP to monitor and control my GivEnergy solar setup without having to rely on GivEnergy's software, whose future is uncertain. This turned out to be pretty easy, folllowing Speak to The Geek's youtube tutorials. Now I just need to find some other things to do with it!
Minus points: (1) I could do without the flashing lights, but I've put it somewhere where they are not too obvious. (2) The operating system is a bit nerdy for a non-programmer like me, but I guess that goes with the territory.”
