We couldn’t fault this hotel! Such a welcoming and genuinely dog friendly hotel. Able to dine with your dog separately from non dog owners in a dedicated dining room which works very well. Every member of staff was friendly and professional. Food was excellent every night with a good choice of options. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would definitely return to this wonderful hotel set in a beautiful location.

We enjoyed a 4 night stay. The food was excellent as was the service. They made a real fuss of our dog. Would really recommend.

Lovely hotel. Great position with lovely walks direct from the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. Probably the most dog friendly hotel I’ve stayed in to date. They think of everything you should need for the dog. & to top it all the food is excellent.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would say "in part" to the good value for money question. I did not think that the room we were allocated was worth £200 a night for Bed and Breakfast. It would not have been large enough to comfortably accommodate us with three dogs but we managed with
I have given this hotel 5 stars due to the absolutely amazing food that was consistently brilliant across the board and the service received from the staff in what turned out to be very difficult circumstances. We had spent a lovely previous week with our three labradors in a cottage near Westwood Ho celebrating my husband's 70th Birthday the day before. Just as we were checking out of the cottage our elderly nearly 15 year old girl decided it was time for her to check out too and start her journey across Rainbow Bridge. We took her to the Veterinary practice nearest to the cottage who kept her in to investigate the cause of the problem. They suggested that we take our other two dogs and check into Mill End Hotel and said they would ring us at 3.00pm when the test results were available. We checked into our room just before 3.00pm only to discover, when we tried to ring the vets, that there was no mobile phone coverage. The receptionist was brilliantly helpful in facilitating communication with the vets through her switchboard and the landline in our room. Our dog was transferred to a veterinary hospital in Barnstable for overnight care. The Vets atvthat practice were fantastic and we drove back there with our other two dogs at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning when our elderly girl passed away peacefully with us all by her side. We had booked a "junior suite" with garden access. I was a little disappointed with the room that had a wet room with a shower but no bath or dressing table. There was very little space to put anything so we did not even attempt to unpack. It was nothing like the spacious room shown in the photo . above. Our two dogs were very well catered for with dogs allowed in the lounge and dog friendly tables available for guests wishing to dine with their dogs or bring them to breakfast. Insofar as that was possible in the circumstances, we enjoyed our stay. Chagworth is a lovely small town and there are several good walks nearby. I enjoyed a relaxing swim and massage at the nearby Bovey Castle hotel where the staff looked after my husband and dogs allowing them access to the beautiful grounds and dog friendly lounge and offering refreshments.

We had a fabulous stay at Mill End - excellent location close to lovely walks with the dog. Food & hospitality was excellent and having a boot room for muddy days with my fur baby was inspired. Will definitely visit again.

We just can’t return soon enough! This is the most perfect country retreat to stay with your four-legged companions if you enjoy fine dining, luxurious surroundings and friendly service. Our suite, booked as a birthday treat, was beautifully furnished and complete with quality tea/coffee facilities, a small fridge and even a complimentary decanter of sherry! The food is to die for, a small menu but delicious and beautifully presented, which could hold its own against a Michelin starred restaurant. Dogs are welcome everywhere except the main restaurant but, if you prefer not to leave them in your room, meals can also be served in one or more of the many comfortable lounges. The boot room has plenty of space to clean and dry off muddy paws with the towels provided along with treats and those little black bags! There is even a secure stock-fenced area where pups can run off lead. With fabulous walks from the door this is a little bit of doggy heaven!
