“The hotel is in a very pretty spot, the staff were very welcoming and our room was perfect, the door opening directly on to the garden area was extremely helpful, lovely comfortable bed, a lovely goody bag for our dog and good quality tea and coffee making facilities”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? This is the first time we have used Pets Pyjamas and we were slightly sceptical about the concept of dog friendly hotels, but Mill End proves you can stay at a good hotel not compromised in any way by taking your dog with you.

“Great hotel for a country stay with your dog. Dogs and their humans are made very welcome by staff and fellow guests. Excellent food and great service. Good walks along the river Teign from the hotel. We will be returning to Mill End.”

“Pets Pyjamas recommended this hotel as we're new dog owners and it was to be our first break with our dog. They are so dog friendly at the Mill End Hotel it was an absolute pleasure. We arrived a few hours early for check-in time but this allowed us to sit in the gardens with a cream tea before taking our boy on a walk. When the Hotel says there are walks on the doorstep they aren't kidding. Beautiful gentle walks and harder walks/hikes are literally 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Whilst dogs must be kept on a lead whilst in the gardens there is a beautiful secure paddock for off lead runs and fun right beside the hotel. The bedroom was so clean and comfy and great bathroom. Comfy beds, tea and coffee making facilities also. Also a little gift box for the dog. The hotel has a boot room for the dogs with a shower, towels and other necessities . The evening meal, in fact all the meals were top class. The Staff (sorry I forget names) were superb and so welcoming. We WILL be back!”

“We are already planning our return trip to Mill End, located in a stunning part of Dartmoor. As fussy customers, we didn't expect to be quite so impressed by the place. Dogs are made to feel very welcome indeed but there are no negative signs of the doggy guests; it smells fresh and fragrant, is spotlessly clean, the furnishings and interior decorations are beautiful and keeping with the period of the property whilst being in very good condition. There is a separate, charming, dining room for diners with dogs which works well as you have something in common with your fellow diners who are, naturally, very chilled about pets. Everything at Mill End was of the highest quality but the stand out has to be the food, which was excellent (and not over-priced) and served by the friendliest of staff. Would highly recommend.”

“Very comfortable hotel, rooms excellent and convenient for human and dog. We like the light cuisine but it wouldn't suit a trencherman. Excellent walking from the door.”

“We are new dog owners, our pup is 16 weeks. After 21 years of going abroad, we weren’t sure what breaks with a dog would be like. Mill End hotel was amazing, the staff couldn’t do enough, it was spotlessly clean, I can’t even begin to rate the food, the chef is out of this world. It was that good we’ve booked again”

“Fantastic dog friendly hotel with river and wood walks right from the doorstep and an enclosed dog field in grounds. The hotel was spotless clean, the food was outstanding at both breakfast and dinner, the staff were all friendly. happy and helpful. We could not fault a thing. Would definitely book again”

“We couldn’t fault this hotel! Such a welcoming and genuinely dog friendly hotel. Able to dine with your dog separately from non dog owners in a dedicated dining room which works very well. Every member of staff was friendly and professional. Food was excellent every night with a good choice of options. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would definitely return to this wonderful hotel set in a beautiful location.”
