“BE AWARE! This hotel is right next to the busy A31 & Bournmouth airport! If you reuire a quiet peaceful break, this is not for you. Otherwise the staff were friendly enough, service was very slow and food was average. We left early after one night.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? It would be very difficult to find fault, been twice and ready to go again

“I would recommend The Avon Causeway to any dog owner. Every staff member should be rated as extremely friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The service and food was superb and served in a relaxing environment. Would definitely like to praise the chef. We would have preferred a larger room and will request this next time”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Great walks (despite the heavy rain) very nearby. No dog bowls etc supplied so remember to bring 2 with you.

“Snug room didn't give us space to set up dog crate, and very war. So needed windows open despite the rain. However very friendly pub and staff and great food. Nice touches in room, like ground coffee and nice biscuits.”

“Lovely historical inn with great story, features and photographs. Manager and all staff so welcoming and friendly especially to Daisy our Cavalier King Charles. Breakfast and evening meals were also excellent. Our room was clean and tidy and had all the facilities needed..”

“We had a very enjoyable stay in August with our pet Labrador, the management and staff were great they love dogs, the food was excellent, good breakfast choice with a breakfast bowl for dogs. We also enjoyed meals in the restaurant in the evening, excellent chef. The hotel is lovely set in an old railway station with lots of railway memorabilia, there is plenty of parking space and a lovely outdoor area at the rear of the hotel. The room was well supplied with tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh milk in a flask, the room did get a bit warm but there was a fan supplied, There is a walk just across the road from the hotel which used to be the old railway track and we also found some good all year round dog -friendly beaches at Mudeford and Highcliffe. We had a great time and would certainly return.”

“Wow! What a great stay we all had. The staff were phenomenal and nothing was too much trouble. We were all made so welcome and the dogs were thoroughly spoilt and fussed over. Room was lovely and clean, perfect en-suite and refreshments in abundance in the rooms as well as home made biscuits. Couldn’t have asked for more and we had a fantastic 4 nights stay and were looked after so beautifully by Amanda and her amazing team. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks for an awesome mini-break.”

“Arrived at the Avon Causeway at around 4.30 and received a very warm welcome, had spent most of the day in Lymington before the hotel. We had a quick introduction around the hotel going through the keys, room and where breakfast would be in the morning. At this point the importance of the keys as we were then told the pub shuts early on Sundays at 7 pm! and the kitchen closed at 6 pm!!! at this point, we just thought what do we do? If we`d wanted an early night we would have stayed at home and saved £133... The staff at the Avon Causeway are fantastic and the breakfast was fantastic great work to Amanda very friendly and welcoming. I feel mis led by Pets-Pajamas not letting me know at the time of booking or on the website that this is the case or I would have booked somewhere else. We are really disappointed by the pet's pyjamas and I would like a refund, please.. This review should not reflect badly on the Avon Causeway great staff..”

“The Hotel is situated within easy access of Christchurch and the airport and although the main road adjacent is very busy the noise wasn't apparent in the rooms. We received a very warm welcome and although we arrived before check-in they kindly told us of a nearby walk to take the dog while they prepared the last bits from being fully booked the previous night The staff lead by Amanda were excellent and very friendly and the food was excellent. Room was very clean and they provided a fan for the warm nights”
