“We booked the Avon Causeway last minute on New Year’s Eve when plans with friends fell through (due to sickness)! It was a lovely little last minute break - we booked a 2 night stay in the family room (there were 4 people - 2 adults and 2 kids under 10yrs plus our 4 month old puppy). It was very quiet but the service was really friendly and the food delicious. In particular the breakfast was a highlight - freshly cooked full English and plenty of other options too and great coffee. Even the puppy got treated to his own brekkie and sown treats in the room too. It’s a great spot for exploring the New Forest, we also did a lovely couple of local walks - one directly opposite the hotel down a disused railway track which was ideal. And also not far from the beautiful Mudeford quay and sandy Avon beach. We also drive a little further to Sandbanks one day too - so a lovely mix of forest and beach time. The room was cozy but clean and had everything we needed. We’d defintiely stay again for the price, service, good food and location for exploring. Thank you for having us!! - a really lovely way to see in the new year.”

“What a find this hotel was! Had a really nice two night stay over the new year. All the staff are amazing and can not do enough for you. Monty (our dog) was spoilt rotten and loved the doggy breakfast. All the food was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. (diet starts today) The location is perfect for the new forest and there are lots of places close by for dog walks and days out. Thank you to everyone... we'll definitely be back.”

“We booked Avon Cuaseway through Pets Pajamas and it was such a simple booking process with great communication. We spent two days at the Avon over Christmas with our little dog and it was simply wonderful. The attention to detail, the welcome from Amanda and her team, the Christmas morning hamper, just all perfect. The food was outstanding and the Christmas lunch was the best I have had in a very long time. Big up to the chef and his team. I can't recommend The Avon Causeway highly enough. It was a delight, a hidden gem and we will certainly be back. Thank you, Amanda and your team for a wonderful stay.”

“This was our first trip with our border collie dog Woody and we were overwhelmed by the service from the Avon Causeway staff towards our doggo. The room had a dog bowl and a bag of treats waiting, he received a doggy breakfast every morning which he loved and the staff would give him treats and make a fuss over him whenever they saw him. It was a wonderful place to stay and close to the areas of interest around the New Forest. Would definitely recommend.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We were slightly out of main season(?), but we’re disappointed that the restaurant had no steaks on our final evening. The hotel was certainly not very busy during our stay. We had expected to be disturbed by aircraft noise from the nearby airport, but th

“This was our first experience of a dog-friendly hotel. We had previously gone for self-catering but were looking for something easier, especially somewhere with breakfast included and we found it! The hotel was like a small Railway Museum which gave added interest to it as a venue, as did the nearby disused railway line, once we’d finally located it! It is well placed for local trips into the New Forest and to the coast with plenty of scope for dog walks.”

“Ryan greater us and Carla with dog Walter All staff were Very friendly staff Making us and Carla welcome. Room are clean. With dog treats and dog shampoo for our dog. Lots of lovely tea, coffee and biscuit for us. Easy access to walk the dog. Good choice of food on the menu Fantastic choices for breakfast all very good quality”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Road noise may be a problem for some, but did not bother us.

“Very dog friendly, Our lurcher Lenny loved his breakfast treat of a sausage. The staff were great and made a big fuss of him. Hotel very comfortable for humans too, large bar and restaurant area, and our room was a reasonable size. Nice space outdoors both front and back for a drink on a summers evening. Handy location for Christchurch, Mudeford, New Forest.”
