Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? For us, we would probably choose a smaller hotel or pub going forward but we really did enjoy our stay and loved the walks in the Meon Valley.

“It is a big hotel and there was a wedding that evening. The staff are very firendly and the dinner and breakfast package offers good value. There is a woodland walk around the hotel grounds which is great for walking the dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night. On your recommendation we walked the Neon valley on both days which is lovely with small quaint villages and pubs along the way. The location of our room was near a thoroughway and our dog felt he needed to be on guard whenever anyone walked by, i.e. deep growling and barking which wasnt great for us or I guess people in the next room. The choices on the dinner menu catered for all tastes. We had to pay a £9 supplement for the cheese board which turned out to be very average and poor value. An excellent choice of food for breakfast.”

“On arrival we were met by very friendly staff. Our room was a basic double, which was comfortable. The hotel staff had given us a complimentary bottle of fizz and a present for our dog, which was a lovely gesture. Both my wife and I enjoyed the hotel facilities, especially a swim after a long day's walking in the local area. The food was exceptional. We would both thoroughly recommend this hotel to all dog owners.”

“The hotel was excellent. Very attractive historic building. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was just to our tastes. Our room was comfortable. Frankie got on well with the other dogs.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The receptionist when we arrived was very knowledgeable and wished my wife a happy birthday, but didn’t say hello to Ralph which I thought would have been a nice touch. We did have some bubbly in our room which was nice and chilled, that was a nice touch

“The house and grounds are wonderful The restaurant and food were fabulous and the staff were attentive and helpful The only reason it’s marked one star down is that the rooms were disappointing, a little to corporate but perfectly functional”

The hotel and rooms were lovely but because we were eating in the bar with a dog it almost seemed we were left to our own devices.There was no fault with the staff.It wasn’t clear if we had to order our food from the bar or it was table service.

“The room and hotel and the grounds very nice but a little disappointed in the dining.The first night we were only given the bar menu and we didn't know we had the restaurant menu to choose from as well until the second night. The description of the food on the menu wasn't what we got several times. When we commented about it we were told the chef hadn't read the menu properly. Had to ask for serviettes every time we ate. The experience of dining in the evening in the bar wasn't that good but the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.”
