This was our first visit to The Fox and Hounds. Talking to the other guests it was obvious how popular it is as a number of guests have been going to it for years. Our dog was made very welcome and was able to come into the dining room. All the staff made a fuss of her. The dog walking area was fantastic. Our dog loved it. The food was of a high standard very day. I didn’t like the pie of the week so they asked me what I would like and made it for me the following night. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Just spent 4 nights at the Fox and Hounds. Must give it a 5 star rate both for staff and food. Got off to a good start when told that we have a up grade. K. Gandy

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Just a fabulous place, perfect in every way for us, the weather was fabulous too
Beautiful location with lovely grounds for walkies without having to leave the hotel, (many circular walks from here too) very dog friendly, allowed in the bar for all meals, plenty of space for large dog, lovely food and very attentive staff, couldn't fault anything. The bottle of wine in our room courtesy of Pet's Pyjamas was an e tea special treat, will definitely re-visit

This was my pup Molly's first time away from home and I didn't know how she would get on. I needn't have worried as she had a wonderful time (as did I). Being able to have her with me whilst eating in the bar/restaurant was great. The grounds of the hotel were perfect for her to run around in and even though she has been timid around other dogs she really seemed to come out of her shell here and enjoyed playing with many of the other dogs. From my point of view the hotel was really good, comfortable accommodation and really good food. The location was perfect for exploring all that Devon has to offer. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful and obviously very accustomed to dealing with dogs. I'm definitely going to recommend it to my doggy friends.

We took our 13 week puppy who had so much attention. The staff were so lovely they would help in anyway they could. Offered us clean dog towels whenever we needed. (Just didn’t stop raining) Can’t fault hotel or food at all.

Hotel set in nice surroundings. Very dog friendly. Staff pleaseant. Bedroom was clean & tidy when we got there. However, housekeeping wasn't great. Bed wasn't made 1 day & room not re-stocked. We did speak to a lovely receptionist & she re-stocked the room for us. Dirty cups & teapot had been emptied in bath & tea stains left over bath & on floor. Floors not swept or hoovered at all during 3 day stay. Buffet breakfast was average. Food orders not correct on 2 occasions. Reserved a room for our meals & arrived at breakfast 1 morning to find someone else sitting at our table. Waiter apologised & said he would move them, we told him not to as we wouldn't have liked to have been moved half way through our meal. Bar staff need training when handing a customer a pint glass lower down the glass rather than at the rim. The cafe & the museum were good, both with helpful members of staff. Sent a review email to the hotel twice but no response. What a shame they don't have the decency to reply :(

It was the first time my 8 years old Westie had stayed in a hotel and he loved the attention he received from all the staff plus all the treats he received.
