They're Back! After much investigation, we have finally managed to establish a suitable upgrade for the Mk2/2.5 & Mk3/3.5 door speakers! These are the 2 way JVC upgrades and are the perfect answer to transform the sound qualilty from your stereo. Features -  2-Way Coaxial250W Peak/30W RMS PowerFrequency Response: 35 - 22,000HzSound Pressure Level: 92dB/W.mMica Cone WooferPoly-Ether Imide Balanced TweeterFerrite Magnet (Woofer)Hybrid SurroundThese are suitable for both the Mk2/2.5 and Mk3 & 3.5 models, and will fit into the standard speaker holder using the existing mounting holes. In order to acheive a perfect fit in the Mk2/2.5 however, we suggest two minor adaptions. The first is to remove the two "tags" on the edge of the speaker, and the second is to trim a small piece from the back of the plastic holder in the door. Please see the larger photos for more details. Also, should you wish to return your car to standard at any time, we advise when cutting the factory plug off the existing wiring, cut it a few centimetres back from the plug leaving you enough wiring to rejoin should you need to.When fitting these to a Mk3 or 3.5, please note that on the drivers side speaker, the black/white wire is the positive, and the red/orange wire is negative, then on the passenger side the orange wire is the positive and the green wire is negative.Fits all Mk2, 2.5, Mk3, Mk3.5 & 3.75 models, 1998>2015Please note: These will not fit Mk2/2.5 or Mk3/3.5 models fitted with a Bose system, or Mk2 Euphonic Special Editions with the upgraded Sony Stereo system.

As some other helpful reviewers have posted, these need a wiring loom adaptor to join the spade connectors on the speakers to the existing socket in the car. Without this, you're looking at a messy and unnecessary wiring job. So I've deducted two stars as the website description implies these are fully compatible when they're not really. In terms of dimensions, they fit perfectly so there no extra work required there. Sound-wise they're fine but I'm not someone who goes around with music blaring and annoying other people, so I'm happy with them.

I installed these into the door - easy to do with a bit of instruction from YouTube. Old speakers had deteriorated and one was not working. Sound is fine from the new speakers - good enough for the radio/music player. Very happy.

An almost plug and play product in relation to the factory-fitted originals, works wonders with the new head unit on my 2013 MX5 NC

A great upgrade replacing 20 year old speakers. I’m no expert but they sound good to me.

Easy to fit for a 79 year old on my 2002 auto with a bit of help from U tube. Not sure what the PC-815s were for but did not use them. Original passenger speaker had failed. New sound much better than original. Thank you MX5parts. Delivered next day.

Much better sound now than the original factory fitted speakers which have always annoyed me as sound quality is poor. Took Robert Willis advice below and got the Ford loom connectors (search for Ford Focus & KA & Mondeo Speaker Adaptor Lead Loom Connectors PC2-815 Pair) which was £4.95 well spent. Also got the plastic lugs for door panel as managed to break 7 of the 16 between the two doors. Don't buy from Mazda - they quoted me £75.00 for 16 pieces of plastic! Using the Loom connectors took me about 20 minutes to swap old for new.
