They're Back! After much investigation, we have finally managed to establish a suitable upgrade for the Mk2/2.5 & Mk3/3.5 door speakers! These are the 2 way JVC upgrades and are the perfect answer to transform the sound qualilty from your stereo. Features - 2-Way Coaxial250W Peak/30W RMS PowerFrequency Response: 35 - 22,000HzSound Pressure Level: 92dB/W.mMica Cone WooferPoly-Ether Imide Balanced TweeterFerrite Magnet (Woofer)Hybrid SurroundThese are suitable for both the Mk2/2.5 and Mk3 & 3.5 models, and will fit into the standard speaker holder using the existing mounting holes. In order to acheive a perfect fit in the Mk2/2.5 however, we suggest two minor adaptions. The first is to remove the two "tags" on the edge of the speaker, and the second is to trim a small piece from the back of the plastic holder in the door. Please see the larger photos for more details. Also, should you wish to return your car to standard at any time, we advise when cutting the factory plug off the existing wiring, cut it a few centimetres back from the plug leaving you enough wiring to rejoin should you need to.When fitting these to a Mk3 or 3.5, please note that on the drivers side speaker, the black/white wire is the positive, and the red/orange wire is negative, then on the passenger side the orange wire is the positive and the green wire is negative.Fits all Mk2, 2.5, Mk3, Mk3.5 & 3.75 models, 1998>2015Please note: These will not fit Mk2/2.5 or Mk3/3.5 models fitted with a Bose system, or Mk2 Euphonic Special Editions with the upgraded Sony Stereo system.

“I have just fitted these speakers and found the process straightforward and simple even for a duffer like me! The sound coming out of the speakers is excellent and I would recommend anyone with a mark 2.5 MX5 to fit them. Perhaps the person saying that these speakers are only worth three stars should reconsider because they are excellent.”

“Allthough I ordered the JVC a few days prior to the special offer which is a pity but there we are, I can say that the difference is fantastic.I had allready fitted the JVC 611 Head Unit which had transformed the sound quality within the car so now that it is coupled with the new speakers WOW”

“Excellent Service once again from MX5 parts i have ordered lots of kit from them and they have never failed to deliver the next day. In terms of the speakers they are not bad at all for the price. I upgraded the head unit to a JVC 811 and felt that the existing speakers ( which did sound good ) were being a bit overworked. Having replaced them with these units there are gains in weight of the bottom end and overall clarity but not as significant as changing the head unit. It is still early days and the cones / surrounds will need time to burn in but overall worth the money. I am not sure at this stage whether i will investigate something further up the food chain though. So a thumbs up from me but don't expect miracles.”

“A great pair of speakers at a good price. Very easy to fit with the couple of mods suggested - maybe takes up to an hour for both sides. MX5parts offered a great service, changing the delivery/despatch date to suit my request. If it wasn't my mum's car that I was borrowing for a while, I'd be buying a lot more from them ;o)”

“i wanted so much for these to be so good but instead i found them simply okay, hate to spoil the party here, yes they improve the sound , but lets face it that's not difficult is it lets be honest its pants !! so im left feeling rather let down bought these on the force of raving reviews but for £44 you pays your money and takes your choice really don't you , not difficult to fit by any means either 3 screws and a bunch of clips i recommend buying a door clip removal tool”

“Now I have bass, where there was no bass. Even radio 4 sounds better through the new speakers, John Humphrys had been sounding like a soprano! These speakers fitted straight in and sound so much better than the light weight paper cone ones fitted as standard. I think Mazda took weight saving a step too far here.”
