They're Back! After much investigation, we have finally managed to establish a suitable upgrade for the Mk2/2.5 & Mk3/3.5 door speakers! These are the 2 way JVC upgrades and are the perfect answer to transform the sound qualilty from your stereo. Features -  2-Way Coaxial250W Peak/30W RMS PowerFrequency Response: 35 - 22,000HzSound Pressure Level: 92dB/W.mMica Cone WooferPoly-Ether Imide Balanced TweeterFerrite Magnet (Woofer)Hybrid SurroundThese are suitable for both the Mk2/2.5 and Mk3 & 3.5 models, and will fit into the standard speaker holder using the existing mounting holes. In order to acheive a perfect fit in the Mk2/2.5 however, we suggest two minor adaptions. The first is to remove the two "tags" on the edge of the speaker, and the second is to trim a small piece from the back of the plastic holder in the door. Please see the larger photos for more details. Also, should you wish to return your car to standard at any time, we advise when cutting the factory plug off the existing wiring, cut it a few centimetres back from the plug leaving you enough wiring to rejoin should you need to.When fitting these to a Mk3 or 3.5, please note that on the drivers side speaker, the black/white wire is the positive, and the red/orange wire is negative, then on the passenger side the orange wire is the positive and the green wire is negative.Fits all Mk2, 2.5, Mk3, Mk3.5 & 3.75 models, 1998>2015Please note: These will not fit Mk2/2.5 or Mk3/3.5 models fitted with a Bose system, or Mk2 Euphonic Special Editions with the upgraded Sony Stereo system.

I installed them and for some reason they sound worse than the stock speakers in my mk2. Could i have switched the wires on the speakers by accident? But i don't think that would just make them sound bad. The bass is good but the mids are pretty rough. I know i probably screwed up somehow but I don't see how.

Very clear speakers. Good bass but without losing any of the nuance. I imagine for a standard 2 door speaker setup this would be very difficult to improve on, particularly for the excellent price.Delivery was very prompt, thanks a lot.

I'm really impressed with these. I fitted them 3 months ago and they were good straight away. I decided to write this review now because I had heard that speakers improve over time after fitting. I can definitely say these have improved with the bass coming through even stronger. I recently checked my presets on the radio in case someone had fiddled but no, the speakers have just improved with age. Very happy and really easy to fit. Get some door card fasteners to keep just incase you break some when replacing. I had to change 4 and was grateful for the advice to get these before hand.

Bought these to replace the original Kenwood speakers I had in a 2000 mark 2. Very inexpensive speakers and give a hugely improved sound over the old speaker's. I'm technically incompetent so took me lots of you tube videos to work out how to install them but I managed it so if I can......If you have manual windows make sure you get the right instructions to take off the door card. Most videos assume you have electric.

I wasn't expecting much, after all these are only cheap speakers, but even when paired up to the standard Mk2.5 unit, they do provide a much deeper sound than the original kit. I am surprised at the difference, to be honest. Great value, and they were also very easy to fit (I didn't have to do any cutting). Thoroughly recommended.

These are good speakers for the price. The sound is much better than the originals. Speakers have much clearer sound and not the same distortion when volume turned up.I am no car mechanic and it was the first time I had taken door panels off, so watched a couple of youtube videos and a good post by GlasgowDave from 2010. Installation was quite easy (less than 2 hours). Really happy with the upgrade for the price of the speakers and the time taken to fit.

Great speakers for the price! I already had aftermarket speakers in my NB and when i installed these they definitely handle higher volume! But i did expect a bit more out of them. Definitely worth the upgrade if you have stock speakers!
