Have fitted mine for over a year now. Still looks fantastic with NO tarnishing. Sounds the mutts nuts, even have second glances from Scooby Doo drivers. Performance flow benefit is noticible. I fitted with Cat bypass pipe also (just keep your Cat handy to put back on for the MOT. Air flow is more direct out the N/S pipe (can be seen by having slightly more exhaust steam/smoke. Ideal length for bumber, sits in perfect position.

First class delivery as usual, This is a high quality exhaust which is an absolute bargain!. Had mine fitted by the garage and it looks absolutely stunning and looks like it has been factory fitted. At first I was a bit worried because it was very loud, but after a few hundred miles it has quietened down a great deal and now sounds throaty rather than boomy. In conjunction with the pipercross induction kit it now sounds fabulous when you accelarate through the gears. It is also quiet at cruising speeds so you have the best of both worlds. BUY IT NOW!

I brought my exhaust in December 2009, had it on at first with a straight through exhaust system, The exhaust was loud!!!! so personally I wouldnt recommend the straight through system as anything over 60mph was to much. Any how I then put a silenced de catt on and sould was great, Now I have the car turbo'd running over 200bhp and the Catt back on and the sound is amazing to say the least, it has a deep burble on tick over and just gets better with more power. I have Lotus and VX220 owners comment on how nice it now sounds.also I had a rattle on my 1st one, but MX5 Parts replaced it without question, I think there must have been a fault on the 1st as the new one has always seemed better.Top work guys

I read the reviews of this being loud and thought people were being fussy... The truth is its brutal!I'm used to loud sports exhausts my other car is a 92 skyline GTR but this is in a different league!I originally thought the issue was the lack of resonator box after the CAT. But it appears the issue is the back box design. The second tail pipe appears to have simply been joined on to the single exit back box. This results in almost the entire gas flow taking path of least resistance, bypassing the baffles and coming out the left pipe. Although this gives a nice subaru type noise at idle (I presume because of diferent volume and frequency from each pipe) it leads to a very noisy practically unsilenced exhaust when driving and a very severe resonance issue at 3000-3700rpm.I use the car a great deal and frequently go touring in summer and 1200 mile round trips on motorway are not much fun! Conversation is impossible and forget about the stereo! The problem does not improve with age in fact if anything it gets worse as the back box cokes up more goes through left pipe. You may think you can get used to it but after a year its my hearing going not the exhaust getting quiter! I have added a large silencer in place of CAT which has moved the resonance RPM range a bit but not helped much.Another small point, a support bracket for second tail pipe would help the sit of the exhaust but this isn't difficult to fabricate DIY!Its a great shame as the construction fit and value are superb. If they could alter the design of the back box to give a more even flow it would be a great product. I'm sure the single exit system is a lot better.

FAR! fAR! FAR! too loud - This exhaust must be breaking some noise pollution laws.I suspect it would even be too loud for track days. Please read all the negative views that have been posted on this item, as I have to agree with them all.It does look stunning when fitted, however it has one purpose only & that is to silence engine which it just does not do!Editors Note: The whole purpose of the reviews is to give customers an informed opinion to enable them to buy with confidence. For this purpose we urge people to read ALL reviews. Acceptable levels of noise will always be a personal opinion, so please also note that after 98 reviews the average score for this product is 4.5 stars.

I've had this exhaust for a few months now. I didn't want to write a reply too early as i wanted to let the exhaust 'run in' for a while. Firstly it was easy enough to fit. It's an idea to have a touch-up pen because when you cut the hole out of the bumper you're left with the white unpainted colour of the bumper where the hole is. When i had the exhaust fitted the passenger side was about 3/4" lower than the driver side. It wasn't overly noticeable but i'm sure , like me, you want it to be just right! I fixed that by getting a shorter exhaust rubber hanger and putting it on the pass side. It lifted that side up and now sits perfectly. Now a word of WARNING...the exhaust is loud (which sounds great when you're giving it some) but is really 'boomy' on part throttle. It can be really annoying and could well spoil your enjoyment of driving the car. I don't drive my car every day and when i do drive it, i drive it how it's meant to be driven. The exhaust really sounds good when you're up the rev range. It's still very loud though and i can't really hear the induction note from my blitz induction kit. To sum it up, it's great value for the money and it certainly looks like a quality item but, and it's a big but, it's probably too loud and boomy for most people. It looks superb on the car and its looks make up for the lack of a quality exhaust note that you'd expect from the higher priced exhausts.

This system is VERY LOUD. I love the look of this exhaust system but it's much louder than the Mazdaspeed system I was replacing. I think maybe the reason it is half the price of the IL Motorsport Dual Exhaust is that it is half the exhaust. Some editors comments blame this extra noise on cat replacement pipes. I still have my cat so that cannot be the reason. I took it to a custom exhaust company local to me who said there was very little he could do to reduce the amount of noise even if a central silencer can was added. This was because the back box only has a 'T' or 'Y' joint inside the back box. This produces a much louder noise. A genuine Mazda system has an 'S' shaped route through the back box meaning much more sound deadening. This exhaust is not for the everyday user. If I keep this exhaust I will probably lose my hearing and might also get hassled by the police. At motorway speeds the rev range is right in the sweet spot of the exhaust noise. It creates a booming and rasping sound and I can't hear the stereo. Running around town is embarrassing, I feel like a 'chav' in a souped up Nova. I am planning to replace it with a standard Mazda single exit exhaust and try to sell this one on eBay.Conclusion: Just because 80 people say they like something, does not mean that you will. Read the negative reviews, however few they are. They are probably more relavent.

Update - Spoke to James @ MX5 Parts this morning and a replacement is in the post today for me to install, I have to let them know once it is installed an they will arrange collection. All I can say is first class service. Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Brought the exhaust in October 2009, had it fitted by a powerflow specialist who made a down pipe to connect to the exhaust at the same time as fitting it.For the first 6months 2000mile, I thought the exhaust was great, I loved the sound, I will agree that it is loud but I liked that and it burbled nicely on tick over.Over the last few weeks the exhaust has become very rattley and tinny on tick over and up until 4000revs (sounds like the 19year old one I replaced). Only when i get to 4k revs does it sound like it used to. I believe one of the baffels has come loose inside causing the fault. I have emailed MX5 Parts tonight requesting to use the 5 year warranty and await their reply.I love the exhaust and its sound, I hope that I get a replacement part at no cost to myself and will be happy and more than willing to fit again.MX5 Parts I look forward to hearing from you. RegardsJames
